If you happen to be a student or an educator, you can get all the software for free for three years, so it's a pretty great deal. Now, if you're not looking at HSMXpress and you're looking more for the HSMWorks package or the package for Inventor, you can head over to the Audodesk website and you can see over here, HSM is now part of this collection of tools from Autodesk, and you can subscribe to the full collection, or you can download the free trial. To get started, just go ahead and fill out your name and so on down here, and download the software.
Now, if you don't already know, HSMXpress is a free 2.5D cam package for SOLIDWORKS, and it works as a plugin to SOLIDWORKS, so you're going to be working in your native environment of SOLIDWORKS, and you're going to have all the available cam tools from HSM Xpress.
